The Band.
Forces of Nature is a Jazz fusion band led by pianist Jens Sweeting based in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. We are an afrocentric jazz fusion band. This means we take any manner of rhythmic styles from African or Caribbean diaspora including Bahamian Junkanoo, Rake n Scrape, Soca, Calypso, Latin, Afro Cuban, Kompa, Bembe and blend it together with Jazz and Improvisation to create a unique musical experience.
Our music is original, rhythm oriented, instrumental, improvisational, with classic Jazz Standards and Bahamian songs weaved into our arrangements.

Bios
JENS SWEETING

Jens Sweeting is a pianist and composer from Freeport Bahamas. Having studied music is Boston and New York he's been playing and performing for nearly 20 years. He has been composing music developing an original blend of Bahamian music with Jazz.
DONTAE DAMES// bass
Dontae Dames is a bassist, songwriter and composer from Freeport Bahamas. After studying contemporary singing in Alabama he returned to Freeport, performing with multiple bands on the island. He's been playing bass for over 7 years and is proficient in electric and upright.
AJ FRANCIS
// drums
AJ Francis was born in Jamaica and grew up in Freeport Bahamas. He has been playing drums for over 14 years in styles ranging from gospel music to reggae, soca and now jazz.
ERICA WEIR
// percussion
Erica Wier is a singer percussionist and educator from Freeport Bahamas. She’s been playing music for over 19 years with experience in multiple instruments including piano and percussion.
